The Church of England is called, as are all Churches, to carry
forward the work that Jesus Christ began in all aspects of the life
of people in society. Jesus said to those who followed him 'As the
Father has sent me, so do I send you.'

The response of Durham Diocese has been to provide a focus to that mission for our area:

 The Church of England from
the Tyne to the Tees and the Dales to the Sea
blessing our communities in Jesus’ name
for the transformation of us all

Three areas have been identified for the next three years as we seek to be a blessing to our communities.

The three priorities are:

Children and Young people

Please take time to seek God's blessing on the 3 priorities. Here is a prayer to help.

God of Mission
Who alone brings growth to your Church,
Send your Holy Spirit to give
Vision to our planning,
Wisdom to our actions,
And power to our witness.
Help our church to grow in numbers,
In spiritual commitment to you,
And in service to our local community,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
