The Parish of Herrington, Penshaw and Shiney Row

8th December 2019 - Second Sunday of Advent

A prayer for the Second Sunday of Advent

O God, your people looked with hope to a land of promise.
Help us to long for your promises
not the unimportant things of this world.

The Collect for today

 O Lord, raise up, we pray, your power and come among us, and with great might succour us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness we are grievously hindered in running the race that is set before us, your bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

to whom with you and the Holy Spirit, be honour and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

A message from Revd Steve Osman

Jean & I would like to say how overwhelmed we were at our send off on 14th. It was just lovely to see so many there and the generosity of the gifts and cards was amazing.

We're gradually settling in to our new home but a lot still to do. Still busy with Grandchildren.

We're still planning on having a drop-in day perhaps in the new year, just watch this space.

Thanks so much for all your good wishes and we'll keep in touch.
